This is a little animation I made for my differential equations
class that I taught at Dartmouth.
The matrix at right has one parameter t in the upper right.
For each value of t we get a corresponding set of eigenvalues.
The animation shows these eigenvalues, plotted as (big) points
in the complex plane, as t runs back and forth between -100 and 100.
I'd like to write an applet that illustrates this sort of thing for a variety of matrices. back to mathematics |
