This is a little animation I made for my differential equations class that I taught at Dartmouth. The matrix at right has one parameter t in the upper right. For each value of t we get a corresponding set of eigenvalues. The animation shows these eigenvalues, plotted as (big) points in the complex plane, as t runs back and forth between -100 and 100.

I'd like to write an applet that illustrates this sort of thing for a variety of matrices.
