Image Manipulation



Here are a few programs, written in BASIC using the freeware METAL basic interpreter (for the Mac), that manipulate images. I think some of the affects are interesting, and some are similar to affects created by expensive "photo" software.
edges shows edges brightly, non-edges darkly
brooklyn cuts the photo into concentric rings and rotates the rings independently
overlapping circles "paints" the image using overlapping disks of color
decolorizer removes color from the image, leaving only brightly colored areas colored
triangle mozaic creates a mozaic of the image using triangles (i.e., squares cut in half diagonally)
scribbler "paints" the image using random walks of color
