Quad Cam Animations

A quad cam is a cheap (less than $20 - you can get them from Archie McPhee, among other places) analog camera that has four lenses (instead of the usual one) and a rotating shutter that exposes the frame of film four times in about one-half second, resulting in four separate images, like this:

By scanning the resulting frame, and separating the digital image into four separate animation frames, one can create short four-frame animations. Click on the images below to see the corresponding animation. The first bunch are animated gifs which load slowly and look extra-grainy. The later ones are javascript animated jpgs, so they look nicer and load faster. Enjoy!
