2009 is effectively over, so I thought I'd check out my riding data and do some comparisons.
This year I rode 7004.52 km, more than any other year ever, and 999.91 km more than my previous record, set in 2007.
This year was especially good for riding. In addition to most km, I also set km records in every month except March, July, September and December. I also rode longer rides this year - check out these histograms from the last three years:
Highlights this year were certainly the Mt. Baker Hillclimb, and all of the riding I did with the UW Husky Cycling Team.
For 2010, I must do at least one 200 km ride. I should try to get that done before the end of June. Why not?

Each year end allows me to look at the year's riding, and compare it to previous years. This year, I road 6004.61 km, a new record for me. Check out this graph:
2007 was a good year all around: I had the most km ever, and my best ever months in January, February, March, May, June, July, and September. Can't complain about that.
For 2008, I hope to ride even more kilometers, and plan to ride a few of the bigger climbs around "here". In particular, I'd like to ride Mt. Baker, and do the "zoo" climb. Hooray for low gears.

We had a bit of rain early this week. This excellent site provides nice graphical data for Seattle weather. Here's what they show for the rain on Monday:
See that long straight steep section from 9:00 to past 17:00? 8 hours of continuous non-light rain.
I believe this included the rainiest 24 hours ever in Seattle. Compare this to what I believe was the previous record:
(Notice that the vertical scales are not the same.) Around our neighborhood things were just quite wet. Luckily, we've had no flooding or mudslides or any other horrors.
Monday was the only day of this quarter (which ends tomorrow) that Jenni and I took the bus to work instead of walking.
