These little purple flowers cover parts of our yard in early summer. I often try to take nice pictures of them, but it was cloudy and windy, so I took one inside and used a tripod for a change; 6 second exposure at f22. The result is much better this way.
The cherry trees on the UW campus are at about peak bloom. As much as I like the trees (and I love the trees!), I like even more the fact that so many people come every year to see them; they stand around smiling and taking pictures of each other with the trees all around them, and it gives me hope to see humans so thoroughly enjoying naturally beautiful things.
A cold spell in Seattle has created ice in places it normally is not seen.

I like photographing the thorns on the rose bushed in my yard. Up close, they can look so out-of-this-world.
